Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says the judiciary is ready to play its role as South Africa begins the process of constituting the seventh administration.
Speaking after receiving the National Assembly lists for Parliament and provincial legislatures from the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) at the Constitutional Court on Thursday, Zondo also said the courts were ready to deal with any grievances that could arise following the May general elections.
He said: “The judiciary will play its role to make sure that our constitutional democracy runs as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.”
