No MI bowler was able to put up any fight as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis made a mockery of them before cruising to 172-run chase in just 16.2 overs. That was the five-time champions’ 11th consecutive season opener defeat.
But ahead of the next game against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, the pace unit of MI sweat it out hard in the nets under the watchful eyes of Shane Bond. The franchise took to Twitter to share the video of pacers honing their skills of bowling yorkers.
Bond organised a yorker drill by placing a pair of shoes to create the spot for bowlers where they are supposed to land their deliveries. Arjun Tendulkar, Cameron Green, Arshad Khan and the others can be seen participating in the drill during a net session.
MI head coach Mark Boucher is confident that the youngsters on whom the franchise has been investing for the past few years will stand up and be counted in this edition of the IPL.
“The IPL is a massive event and it’s going to be a great opportunity for some of our young boys to really show up,” Boucher said in a media release issued by MI.
