Rassie warns Loftus altitude theory doesn’t fly against Irish: ‘It depends on how fit you are’

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus isn’t too fazed by the advantage that comes with altitude, saying it’s only of real benefit when teams aren’t fit – and that won’t be the case with Ireland.

Ahead of Saturday’s first Test against Ireland, the team’s first visit to the ground in 26 years, Erasmus said Ireland are a fit enough side to negate the effects of altitude.

At United Rugby Championship level, the Irish sides have already shown an ability to stay the course on the Highveld.
