A man whose girlfriend was mauled by dogs in his yard will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on a charge of culpable homicide.
The 48-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, a day after his 28-year-old girlfriend was attacked by two pit bulls and two rottweilers. The dogs mauled her to death at his home in Namibia Square, Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thabo Covane said the man was arrested in terms of the Animal Matters Amendment Act No 40 of 1993.
