After several failed attempts to stop illegal car washing along the East London beachfront, Buffalo City metro said it was planning to start impounding the vehicles of transgressing motorists.
Illegal car washing has been mushrooming in front of the East London International Convention Centre in recent years despite repeated attempts by the metro to halt it.
Motorists bring their vehicles to the beachfront’s parking lot to be washed by unemployed people who stand on the beach pavement with buckets, waving their wash cloths.
