The Gauteng High Court in Pretoria heard on Monday the charred remains of a person, who had supposedly died in a fire, were found on top of a bed that had no trace of fire or burning.

Those remains were initially believed to be those of Sibusiso Mahlangu, who is currently on trial with his wife, Lerato. They are accused of killing Lerato’s ex-lover and father of her daughter, Sibusiso Sithebe.

DNA results later proved the remains were Sithebe’s.
