Eastern Cape floods: Twin sister of student swept away struggling to cope with pain of loss

“This loss is overwhelming and I can’t cope,” said the grief-stricken twin sister of a student who was swept away by flash floods in Kariega in Nelson Mandela Bay. 

Asemahle Mdiniso, 21, a National Certificate Level 2 student at Eastcape Midlands TVET College, was out with friends on Saturday, 1 June.

While driving, they were confronted by heavy rain and the subsequent flash floods which caused severe damage to parts of Kariega.
